Sunday Musings: Another Successful Sunday Market
Just wrapped up a local market nearby today. As a small, new brand, getting out there is part of the process of developing products, chatting with customers, and seeing what works and what doesn't. Doing local farmers' markets is a beautiful opportunity to connect with people and also get a glimpse into what I think is working and what needs further refinement.
And while the events themselves are often so fun, they are also really HARD. Sometimes I put so much effort into my event only to make a handful of sales. I feel the wave of emotions with doing "well" from a sales perspective or not at each event, or even sometimes each passing hour.
And then the parts I enjoy, getting to meet a variety of people face-to-face. Learning more and more about what people really want and don't want. Growing a skill I never ever had, mainly in-person sales.
I have also been thinking a decent amount about non-sales and non-revenue metrics. My reason for creating a business in the first place was to solve a specific problem for my mom and my younger sister. It feels so incredible to bring joy, care, and compassion into the world while creating products others really love.
As a passionate and driven person, it is a learning process to balance the desire for growth with the desire for a continued connection. I feel that I am continually testing to see if people and the market like what my business has to offer.
Musings done.
