That's a Wrap! A Summer of Markets
As I reflect back on my time as a first-time vendor at local markets I think about all the beautiful moments and the learnings. My very first event I was nervous and felt fairly awkward as I had never done anything like this before and yet I felt alive at the interactions and amazing at each sale. I am naturally on the more introverted side so in-person sales has been a tremendous opportunity to stretch myself.
Through out the course of the summer-of-markets I have also had an INCREDIBLE amount of support from my friends and family and this is such a blessing. Now, I do have moments where I question my direction and confidence as I left the "safe" course of my previous corporate 9-5 life. It has now been nearly 4 months of becoming a full-time maker and official small business owner. And I learned that I am willing to do what is needed to vend, create and become.
This comes with some moments of super hot days and associated super low sales. One huge learning came in the form of my natural products baking out in the sun due to their glass bottles and minimal ingredients. I will be looking into what works best for me for the next season. I have big dreams and also a huge amount of uncertainty ahead. Here's to the path forward! May we support others and keep the bold dreams alive. :)
